Cumberland Man Claims $50,000 Winning Powerball® Ticket
$10,000 Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Tiverton

A Cumberland man claimed a $50,000 winning Powerball® ticket from the May 19th draw. The winning ticket matched four numbers and the Powerball® number to win $50,000. Had he purchased the PowerPlay® feature, his prize would have been multiplied by 3, the PowerPlay® number for that draw, to win $150,000. He said he has been playing the same number combination, 3, 6, 9, 7, 56 and 25, for years and that it represents family members’ birthdates. He recently retired, so he plans to simply enjoy his winnings. Chapel Pharmacy, 2081 Diamond Hill Rd., Cumberland, sold the winning ticket.

Wednesday’s estimated Mega Millions® jackpot is $151 million.

A $10,000 winning Mega Millions® ticket was sold in Rhode Island for Friday night’s draw. The winning ticket matched four numbers and the Mega Ball to win the standard prize payout of $10,000. The prize has yet to be claimed. Elaine’s Country Store, 1204 Fish Rd., Tiverton, sold the winning ticket.
